Virtualstock is an innovative SaaS platform that offers dropshipping and curated marketplaces to retailers seeking growth without the need for high upfront investment. Virtualstock outlined a concise, clear brief: to transition their (work-in-progress) website to the HubSpot platform. Figma files were not ready at the stage that Big Tech Platforms partnered with Virtualstock, meaning that the project would take one of two paths: pause until the complete design was signed off, or begin work building on what was completed at this stage.
Virtualstock communicated that speed and momentum were very important for them, so Big Tech Platforms leapt into action to avoid any bottlenecks.
Big Tech Platforms’s development team proposed a phased, bespoke development strategy that mirrored Virtualstock’s existing framework with both teams working in synchrony.
The project began with the creation of the homepage and top nav bar. Both of these elements were keystones of the structural framework and the visual language that was to be carried throughout the entire site.
As the new HubSpot homepage began to take shape, Virtualstock’s design team continued working on inner pages. This approach meant that by the time the second batch of designs was ready, Big Tech Platforms’s dev team would be finished with the core navigation and style language.
Big Tech Platforms was tasked with the complete HubSpot migration which incorporated the creation of custom modules (to meet Virtualstock's design specifications) in addition to a content management system that was both intuitive and easy to use.
Big Tech Platforms’s lead developers worked directly with Virtualstock's Figma files, accurately translating them into responsive HubSpot templates.
Feedback from Virtualstock allowed both teams to forge an increasingly tighter feedback loop that was much more effective that traditional waterfall project management.
Our phased strategy identified two key deliverables:
